The SKIDCAR™ Type C is the perfect solution for drivers of quick response emergency vehicles, Command Staff driving large SUVs, Emergency Responders, or Military. The SKIDCAR Type C adds to the realism of driving a heavy vehicle in high-stress, limited time scenarios. If your drivers operate on or off-road in model year 2012 or newer vehicles, the new traction systems of two wheel drive, four wheel drive, or on-demand AWD can be exposed and taught with this heavier addition of SKIDCAR. From driving through inclement weather to learning safe and efficient driving techniques for modern vehicle technology, SKIDCAR is the practical and most efficient answer. The SKIDCAR can be completely adjusted for grip to fit a full range of driver training requirements including beginners, in-service, and highly trained professionals.
Through the use of an electro-hydraulic pump and an electronic controller with memory, the SKIDCAR SYSTEM transfers the weight of the vehicle to the outrigger/frame carriage. This allows the change and manipulation of the vehicle’s co-efficient of friction (a.k.a. grip) to duplicate a myriad of driving conditions. Unlike any other training tool available, SKIDCAR allows the front and rear tire grip to be set independently. Users can experience front and rear wheel skids (understeer or oversteer) and train pro-active driving techniques to reduce loss of control events and ultimately save lives. The SKIDCAR controller allows the vehicle to easily and immediately return to full grip and safety during exercises with the push of a single button. Training speeds can be raised for safe, but more realistic outcomes than are possible on an extremely expensive and water wasteful wet pad.
SKIDCAR™ Type C and Type C+ are specifically designed for large SUVs, small Ambulances, or light armored HUMVEE. Based on individual vehicle measurements, we can build a Type C that fits your needs. Should the host vehicle need to be changed for any reason in the future, an attachment conversion kit is available, allowing the SKIDCAR to be installed on another vehicle that meets Type C weight specifications.
