DANE PITARRESI

President SKIDCAR SYSTEM, INC Dane PitaressiDane Pitarresi and his passion for driving is a long standing tradition in his home town of Portland Oregon. Dane started his driving career in 1971 with his first racing driver school at the Thruxton Racing Circuit in Thruxton England. He has for the last 26 years been the voice of experience in Professional Racing at his home track of Portland International Raceway where he has been the Color Commentator, and Pit Road reporter for live radio and PA simulcast for professional races including, CART/CHAMPCAR, ALMS, Trans Am, Karting and NASCAR. He has raced professionally in SCCA, IMSA, and NASCAR including the Northwest Tour and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

He started motor racing in 1971, and through 2002 Dane has accumulated an impressive list of race victories, lap records, and driver championships including International competitions. His driver instructor career started in 1976 teaching advanced and racing classes and broadening his experience with the opening of his own school, Pitarresi ProDrive that included professional, private, Law Enforcement, protective services and municipal instructor training elements.

From 1990 to the present Dane’s focus has been on the delivery and instruction on the use of the SKIDCAR SYSTEM® and “It’s about Grip, not Slip®” philosophy of driver education. His experience with the international community has given him insights into the cognitive, perceptual motor skills, and motor skills instruction needed for the improvement of vehicle training from the beginner to the absolute professional. The delivered curriculum including power point presentations, service material and associated training information are components that are included in SKIDCAR SYSTEM, INC being the sole Certifying source for SKIDCAR SYSTEM® Instructors in the Western Hemisphere.

Dane’s company has delivered more than 270 SKIDCAR SYSTEMS in North America and has certified almost 1000 driver instructors in the use of the SKIDCAR™ and its System of learning.
